COOLING YOUR HOME

This time of year it seems like the central A/C is running 24/7 to keep the temperature inside your home cool and tolerable. The A/C system dries and cools the air, so the drier the air that is circulated through the system the colder that air will feel to you. About 12 years ago I purchased two dehumidifiers for our home and they were the best investment I have ever made. We have a contemporary style home with high ceilings that is 2,100 square feet, we have a 5 ton A/C unit, and along with the ceiling fans to move the air around we are able to keep our thermostat set at 77—78 degrees, if we lowered the thermostat to below 75 degrees it would be too cold. I was told the volume of air flow plus the drier the air the more comfortable the air will be while set at a higher temperature.  Plus we have a 135 and a 75 gallon salt water aquariums which obviously adds humidity into the air.

Sounds crazy right? But when you enter our home you are immersed in crisp, cool, dry air because those dehumidifiers remove about 2 gallons of humidity from the air about every 24 hours. And the proof of that drier air is that the out side unit of our central A/C unit has very little water on it because the dehumidifiers are drying the air inside the house. I promise you if we lowered the thermostat to below 75 degrees it would be too cold.

And the drier the air inside the less allergy spores you have which also helps to keep the inside environment healthier for everyone.  So if you want to help to cool the air inside your home while reducing the workload on you’re A/C system, which will extend the life of your unit, and create a healthier indoor environment you might want to invest a few hundred dollars for a good dehumidifier.

If Perry secured the Texas border first then White would not have had any illegal’s to give sanctuary to in Houston. The first step in solving the illegal immigration problem  is securing the border and neither the Republicans or Democrats are willing to take that first step.
The biggest difference between Perry and White is Perry, if reelected, will ignore Texas and focus on a national image while White will move towards the center to focus on being reelected again as Texas Governor.

Great idea, especially when our tax money is paying for the tuition through federal loans and worse through free grant money.

How many billions or even trillions of our dollars have we spent over the past 50 years building and maintaining our nuclear arsenal? And for what purpose, to run like chickens every time some two bit little panty wearing dictator threatens us? Haven’t we heard enough threats from that Chia pet looking dictator from North Korea?? And what is our response every time, buy him off by giving him more of our money, and where has that gotten us?? Just like peace in the middle east, billions spent down the drain and nothing but more threats and then we run to make them happy with more of our money.

Stop the insanity, just one little nuke that lights up the sky like the 4th of July over North Korea and I bet the rest of the world will bend down and kiss our collective butts in respect. It is time to show these losers that we are a bunch of crazy mothers who have had enough of their whining and threats and we are gonna start pushing back in a real big way. After North Korea, then we tell them Middle East numb-nuts there is one waiting in our silo with their address on it and lets see how they like that.

Yes I acknowledge it is a bit crazy, somewhat drastic, and just a little extreme, but we have always cleaned up everyone else’s mess, paid everyone else’s bills, and rebuilt everyone else’s country why?? To prove we are the real good guys? To try and be the better people? And what has the payoff, the benefit,  been for us??

Or how about we stay out of everyone else's business, tell them to leave us alone, and build a better U.S.A.?

Maybe Ford is really interested in pimping its “manufactured” replacement parts because it makes tons of money selling them?? These auto manufacturers make very few of their own parts, most are made by a vendor who also makes the aftermarket parts that sell under a different name then Ford or Chevy.

And if your vehicle is 2 years old or more and you have an accident what entitles you to a brand new part to replace the old part that was damaged? Remember the insurance company is obligated to put your vehicle back in the same condition it was in before the accident, not to improve the value of your vehicle.

I
am certain that Ford is really interested in the safety and welfare of their customers, anyone remember the Pinto? Or how about all those F150’s that would catch fire on their own while parked in their owners garage at night burning not just the vehicle but the house?? Yep, it is all about what is best for the customer with them car manufacturers.

I wonder if he paid the sales taxes on all the stuff he traded for? You can bet that some government official has added up all that lost tax revenue and soon there will be some form of legislation passed to collect all that tax revenue.

“We have been able to show how you secure the border and would be happy to do that with Washington."

Is Perry smoking weed?? He has done nothing to secure the Texas border, and Obama doesn’t need Ricky Boy to show him how to say one thing and do another, they are both the same type of lying politician.

And both Pres. Bush and Gov. Rick Perry have kept the southern Texas border wide open allowing millions of illegal immigrants to flood into Texas and many of these illegal’s work in the construction business building homes for Bob Perry……

But there is NO connection here…..

Is it time to save millions of dollars every year by merging some city and county governments in Texas? We all know it will be a political bloodbath, many will not give up their fiefdom very easy without being pushed out, but just like in the private sector it is time for government to downsize, become more efficient, and be more accountable to the people it serves.

Something I can do without in life, FIRE ANTS!!!

When God told Noah to gather two of everything did he really mean EVERYTHING?? Don’t you think there were a few things Noah could of left behind?? Like fire ants? Monday I made that dumb mistake of walking barefoot on the front lawn while moving the soaker hose, suddenly I felt the little lawn rats biting at both my feet. And I did not step on a mound, no these savages were hiding in my grass waiting for me, does anything move a fast as fire ants when offered the opportunity to attack human flesh? I used to have two big red belly piranhas back in Jersey and they never attacked with such speed and anger.

Maybe Noah didn’t include fire ants in his inventory, they most likely floated above the water on a piece of tree branch along with the termites, I bet Noah while sailing in a WOODEN boat did not include the termites on his list of things to gather. Maybe that is why fire ants and termites are so pissed at us humans? Because Noah left them behind to die and now they are attacking us for revenge??

On the next Ark there are a few things we need to leave behind, such as fire ants, termites, ticks, fleas, child eating pit-bull dogs (just the nice ones please), people who display their boxer shorts outside their pants while displaying their butt crack, caterpillars (can we skip that part and go directly to the butterflies?), we need to make a list.

“ Mobile Loaves & Fishes would rent the cottages and RVs for $100 to $375 a month to single people or couples who are chronically homeless, often defined as those who have a disability or addiction and have been homeless for more than a year, Graham said. Residents could stay in the trailers permanently, he said.”

They are living on the street or in shelters for free so why would they pay?? And building this so close to an airport?? I bet there is a lawyer already prepared to file a lawsuit about the noisy jets flying overhead….

The occasional viewing of a 3D movie is not harmful to your eyes but the constant viewing of content by using a 3D TV in your home can be very stressful and possibly damaging to your eyes. It can be especially harmful for children who spend an excessive amount of time watching movies and playing video games using a 3D TV.

Texas Virtual Academy at Southwest is a public school that offers a great alternative to attending the physical public school, this is not home schooling, it is the public school inside your home. This past school year was the first one for our son who was in the 7th grade to attend this on-line school and the results were great, he will continue with the 8th grade. The teacher to student ratio is half of the public school, the software is great, Jared's grades are A's and B's, he is much happier, it teaches him self motivation and independence instead of being spoon fed in a physical classroom, Jared is able to click on to an assignment and complete it anytime he wants 24/7 weekends or holidays, and this year he completed all his courses ahead of schedule, it is the future of quality education for our kids. This year there were some days when he only had 2 hours of school work because he had completed his assignments. And unless it is an extreme situation there is never a sick day.

You are more involved and in control of what your child learns, plus your child and you have more one-on-one time with the teacher then the physical public school can offer. There is no political correctness, no indoctrination, no school buses, no school bells, nor peer pressures, no drugs, no distractions, just education the way it is supposed to be. And when our son’s friends get off their school bus he is already there riding his bike, school work completed, and he has NO homework.

Repeat, NO HOMEWORK!!!

For more information about the Texas Virtual Academy at Southwest click onto the link to the left and to see the actual software used click onto the K12 link to the left. The state provides everything your child requires, books, materials, microscope for science, and even a desktop computer and printer all at no additional cost to you because it is a public school and you already pay for it.

If you are seriously considering home schooling, take some time and check out this alternative, it is the best of both worlds and you are in control.

AstroSmoker!!

For years now we have struggled with the Astrodome,

So either tear the thing down and save taxpayers millions per year
